Development work today continues with medical and educational projects, in Gansu Province, in central China.

Community Health Development

The project is addressing the awareness of personal wellbeing. We want to be able to provide health awareness as well as equipping and training underprivileged students to be their communities’ champions motivating the whole community to move towards social, economic and holistic healthy lifestyle development. Included in the project are activities such as teaching courses on holistic health care awareness, healthy lifestyle promotion and hepatitis B vaccination.

Community Education Development

Students from underprivileged communities lack opportunities to receive higher education due to a shortage of qualified teachers in this region. Therefore there is a great need in providing and strengthening the academic education for the training of future leaders. These leaders will be champions of their underprivileged communities, motivating the whole community to move towards social, economic development. The project aims to enhance the academic level of the teachers of the university, especially in English Language. This includes the recruitment of international qualified teachers for English teaching, sport coaching, agricultural teaching and the introduction of short term consultancy personnel.

Healthcare and Education Development

The project addresses the increase of hepatitis B infection (HBV) in China by increasing awareness and prevention of HBV through empowering student leaders to provide health education. The project will also address the increase of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis and Dysentery. The project aims to increase health awareness, prevention and education among underprivileged university students for better protection against possible illnesses. It will also enable them to stay healthy to complete their studies and empowering them to bring health awareness back to their community.
